A dynamic and pivotal role has arisen for a Building Services Manager to join a public sector’s facilities management department. Reporting to the Property Maintenance Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing hard facilities management (FM) services across the Council’s properties, including operational estates and properties for external clients.

Engage with senior Council members, regulatory bodies, and community groups while leading a dedicated in-house team and collaborating with top-tier contractors.

Report to and gain mentorship from the experienced Property Maintenance Manager, helping drive strategy and operational improvements across the Council’s estate.
The successful Building Services Manager will:
Hold a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with extensive experience in managing both planned and reactive maintenance.
Bring practical knowledge in facilities management regulations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Demonstrate strong financial management and an ability to oversee budgets, including a £2.8m hard FM budget.
Possess excellent leadership and team management skills, supervising in-house staff and external contractors to deliver high-quality maintenance services.
Exhibit expertise in building compliance, procurement, and project management, contributing to the Council’s capital programs and long-term asset management plans.
In return, the successful individual will receive an attractive compensation package consisting of:
£45,000-£50,000
