Technical Consultant, SC/DV (277lw) – Information Security – Home based - £40,000-£45,000.00 pa

Our client is a well-established Security & Defence SME, deploying secure information exchange solutions in Defence & Government. They are seeking a Technical Consultant with a high level of Infrastructure & Network understanding, Linux knowledge & scripting ability, to undertake project activities to deliver solutions to customers. Our client very much welcomes Service Leavers!

Holding UK Security Clearance or willingness to undergo UK Security Clearances is key.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake customer project activities to deliver solutions, including planning, technology implementation, configuration, documentation, training and building support rigs.

Undertake delivery of internal or R&D projects as required.

Develop product training material and other product artefacts needed for solution delivery.

Build clients appliances and standard product.

Undertake customer support activities.

Support the business in marketing and pre-sales activities.

Manage calls raised by customers, providing solutions, and escalating where appropriate.

Identify potential bugs for escalation to Software/Hardware Engineers, raising product hot fix requests as required.

Validate hot fixes and components prior to shipping solutions to customers.

Issue licences as required, both for client product and other third parties, as necessary.

Maintain good customer records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information with a level of detail is appropriate to the customer.

Produce customer reports.

Experience required

High level of infrastructure and network understanding.

Linux knowledge.

Scripting ability.

Ability to Manage and prioritise workload in conjunction with management and make decisions based on the information available

Able to approach problems in a logical and controlled manner utilising available resources, processes, and procedures with the ability to work autonomously.

It would be desirable to obtain and maintain appropriate professional qualifications

Advantegous to have experience in Cloud

The role will at times require international travel
