Seasonal Workers – Vineyards (Bank Staff)

Over the last 5 years, the number of vineyards has risen by 74% to over 900 with more than 200 wineries based in the UK. As a Seasonal Worker, you will help with a wide variety of jobs to maintain the growth of the vine, ready for their harvest.

Seasonal Worker Responsibilities

* Carrying out all vineyard maintenance activities o vine, under vines and between rows

* Operating the appropriate machinery such as tractors (Valid licence necessary)

* Carrying out frost monitoring and protection activities

* Removing leaves from the vines to expose the grapes

* Lifting the wires to control the growth

* Bud rubbing to pollinate the grapes

* Harvesting the grapes towards the end of the season.

Personal Qualities

* Interest in the viticulture industry

* Able to spot and report problems

* A good team player and/or able to work under your own initiative

* Reliable with a positive attitude to work

* Able to work in all weather conditions throughout the year

* Full spoken English not essential but an ability to understand instructions in English is required

Skills and requirements

* Previous experience working within viticulture, specifically on vineyards, will be beneficial but not essential

* Hourly rate of £11.44 (paid weekly)
