Join a Scientific instrumental company, a leading Research and Development company committed to excellence and innovation. We are looking for a skilled Turner (Lathe) to join our client’s team and contribute to their production processes.
Core Responsibilities
Operate conventional turning machines to produce precision components according to technical drawings and specifications.
Set up and calibrate turning machines for production runs, ensuring that all settings are correct for the required specifications.
Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools (such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges) to ensure they meet quality and accuracy standards.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on turning machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Maintain accurate records of production runs, including machine settings, material used, and inspection results.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a clean and safe working environment. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any safety concerns to the supervisor.
Work closely with other machinists, engineers, and production staff to ensure efficient workflow and address any production issues promptly.
Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as a Turner or similar role in a machining environment.
Proficiency in operating conventional turning machines and understanding of machining principles and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
High attention to detail to ensure precision and quality in all machined components.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy materials.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
