About the Role
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Assistant Technical Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and legality of products manufactured on-site in line with agreed quality specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a robust documentation system covering all activities, from incoming raw materials to finished product dispatch.
Ensure full traceability, demonstrating conformance to specifications at every stage, and implement corrective actions where required.
Offer guidance and support for operational projects.
Coordinate customer visits, including setting agendas and preparing contact reports.
Ensure products consistently meet minimum shelf-life requirements.
Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including Health and Safety responsibilities as outlined in the H&S Policy.
Lead Technical/QA projects, such as implementing new taste panel systems and traceability systems.
About You
Minimum HND (or equivalent) in a Food Technology-related discipline
In-depth knowledge of HACCP, integrity, and allergen control
Extensive experience in food manufacturing, particularly within a QA function
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Strong communication skills at all levels
Analytical mindset
Proficient in computer literacyThis is a full-time, permanent position based at Dronfield Derbyshire. The working hours are standard 8.30-5pm but you may be expected to support occasional/ infrequent night shifts.
