Support Worker – Female Drivers Only
You must live and have the Right to Work in the UK. SeeAbility is unable to support any sponsorship requests.
Location: Seaford, East Sussex

Salary: £23,400 per annum plus benefits.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis.
Shifts: 7.00am to 3.00pm and 2.00pm to 10.00pm, Monday to Sunday.
Employment type: Full-time, Permanent.You MUST hold a UK Driving licence to apply for this role.

Hold a UK Manual Driving licence and willing to drive other vehicles.

The team at Barclay House supports 9 people in an accessible purpose-built residential home for adults with a variety of disabilities including sight loss.
The home is in a lovely residential area, which is close to the local town and facilities. The team provide individualised support to maintain and improve each person’s quality of life. This includes increasing people’s opportunities and aspirations.

As a Support Worker: 
You will promote and support individual care needs assisting people to learn new skills.
You will be an advocate for the people you support and once you are trained you could become a keyworker and you will hold regular meetings.
You will arrange and work with the Senior Support Workers and Deputy Manager to hold person centred reviews.
You will update the daily records, support plan, health action plan and other administrative aspects to the role.
You will work within in a multi-disciplinary agency to support individuals with medical appointments etc.
You will assist with personal care; laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration.
You will get to know the people you support, and help them to live their lives meaningfully, in the way they wish to.
You will take personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you support.
You will promote a Safe working environment, understanding the principles of Safeguarding to promote the welfare of the people we are supporting.
You will help the people you support plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims. 
You will plan, promote, and encourage activities such as holidays and social engagements and life skills. You will be creative and explore new opportunities.
You will assist the people we support, to manage their personal affairs, including making, preparing, and attending any appointments.
You will work with the people we support, families and other advocates to ensure we all work together. (The principle of respect, dignity, equality and equity).

About you

You will be an open minded person who is willing to learn and who adopt a friendly approach.
You need to be motivated and able to promote and support the individuals we work with.

You will be committed to continuous learning and growth within your role.
To work as part of a team and recognise other skills.
Whilst it is helpful to have experience and knowledge within social care, this is not essential as training will be provided.You will ideally be able to commit to 37.5 hours per week, although we will consider part time hours if worked flexibly. You will be part of a rota system which covers 7 days a week, including early and late shifts and alternative weekend working.

Being a driver with a manual licence is essential.
