Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Based: London Zone 1

Hybrid: 5 days in London office

Offer: £85,000 to £95,000 + package

This role carries out the commercial function for the main contractor, who works across various sectors primarily high-end residential, hotels, and commercial. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director responsible for management duties on construction contracts and commercial matters from pre-construction, through the construction phase to final accounts and certificates.

Key Responsibilities

* Take ownership of, administer and represent the company in commercial and contractual matters.

* Prepare and implement commercial strategies to align with the business plan.

* Prepare, negotiate and agree on valuations, including generating certificates and invoices/payments.

* Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting subcontractors and finalising subcontractor orders, managing commercial issues to final account completion

* Manage the process of submission of claims regarding delays, losses and expenses. Succinctly challenge claims and formulate detailed arguments representing relevant parties.

The ideal candidate

With at least ten years of quantity surveying experience and having the ability and expertise to manage single or multiple jobs, equate to north of £30 million per annum. The ideal candidate will hold a Quantity Surveying Degree or similar and be able to demonstrate the following skill set:

* Determination to excel within the role and execute responsibilities with due care & diligence, and attention to detail;

* Technically familiar and commercially aware with extensive knowledge of construction contracts, materials and products, and labour;

* Ability to understand and question the tender documentation;

* Commercially aware and able to Identify commercial risk & opportunity;

* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to liaise with colleagues and clients;
