Cedar is partnering with a leading transport services business looking to hire a Senior Group Accountant. The business operates across multiple locations with a turnover of £350m and a workforce of 3,500.

Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Accountant to join their dynamic finance team, where you will report to the Financial Controller and take full responsibility for financial reporting, compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Ownership of the Financial Accounting function for a multi-entity business with £350m turnover.
Prepare financial statements, reports, and reconciliations in line with FRS 101 accounting standards.
Conduct variance analysis and identify financial discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
Assist with monthly balance sheet and cash flow preparation.
Support internal and external audits by preparing financial data.
Collaborate with other departments to enhance financial processes and controls.
Contribute to strategic projects, including M&A activity and system upgrades.

Skills & Experience Required:

ACA or ACCA qualification with 2+ years PQE.
Ideal first move from practice into industry.
Experience with financial software such as SAP or Agresso.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with a strong analytical mindset.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
