Mental Health Assistant

This is a full time position with the view of successful candidates being able to start in September 2024. As an SEN teaching Assistant, you will be working 1:1 and in small groups with children across key stage one & two. Assisting pupils with emotional needs, behavioural challenges to support the individual's wellbeing and personal development.

A Primary school located in High Wycombe, Bucks are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual who have qualified in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology or Education. However, candidates with relevant experience also will be considered!

An outstanding mainstream Primary school in High Wycombe, Bucks is currently recruiting a SEN Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs (SEMH).

Mental Health Assistant

This is an excellent opportunity for the successful mental health assistant to work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school. You will be mentored and have the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from them. In addition, you will gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs and Mental Health field. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring educational or occupational psychologist, therapeutic support worker or SEN teacher.

The school has fantastic resources and state of the art facilities to support the children across all year groups. If you have previous experience as a teaching assistant, understand their complex needs, is open-minded and up for a challenge this could be the next step in your career. Suitable experience can include working with SEN children and/or adults in any setting, even on a personal level such as with family. Level 3 qualifications+ or a Degree would be most desirable.
