Project Manager - Rail | York | Up to £400 per day (Outside IR35) | Hybrid

The Opportunity:

The Civils & Infrastructure team at Ford & Stanley are proud to be working in partnership with one of the largest Train Operating Companies in the UK. They play a vital role in the north of England by connecting tens of thousands of rail passengers travelling for work, leisure, education and more every day.

Due to substantial financial investment within the transportation sector they are looking for an experienced, Rail-based Project Manager to look after a portfolio of railway station property developments, including AFA (accessibility for all) schemes, Across York and Northeast. This role would be ideally suited to someone from a construction or engineering background.

Key responsibilities:

Responsible for overseeing projects from initiation to service entry, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications.
Clearly defining project requirements and scopes, supporting robust estimation and business case development.
Collaborating with stakeholders to manage dependencies, coordinate activities, and identify efficiencies.
Maintaining accurate cost schedules and project timelines, ensuring compliance with change control mechanisms.
Managing contract interfaces and leading project progress meetings, design reviews, and commercial evaluation meetings.
Ensuring adherence to governance requirements, including safety, environment, and procurement governance, while maintaining secure and orderly project documentation.
Risk & issues analysis, working with the team to manage and minimise 
Candidate Essentials

Previous experience working as a Project Manager role, within the UK Rail Sector.
Experience managing construction/engineering-based projects.
Experience in managing 3rd party suppliers.
Good verbal and written communication including strong stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:

Engineering/Construction related qualifications.
Project Management qualifications e.g., Prince2, APM.
