We are recruiting on behalf of our well-established client who requires an experienced Shift Leader to join them on a full-time basis, working on a night shift following an initial training period on day shift.
The successful individual will be responsible for managing and directing a small production team. You will effectively deliver the production plan, whilst meeting all requirements relating to H&S, food safety, legality and quality.

What you can expect:

* Pay rate: £18.49 per hour - £13.21 plus a generous shift allowance, increasing the total hourly rate to £18.49

* NIGHTS - 36.5 hour per week

* Monday – Thursday 23:00 to 07:00

* Friday 21:00 to 04:00

* Role offered on a temp to perm basis

* Following completion of temp to perm, the successful candidate will receive:

* Annual leave 25 days plus bank holidays

What you will be doing:

* Leading a small team of 3 across a night shift rotation

* Managing control of all production related costs

* Effectively engage production teams at all levels to create and executive improvement plans

* Work together with warehouse, production planning and quality to develop an optimum production plan

* Execute daily planning schedule and work together to improve efficiency

* Ensure compliance with H&S policies and ISO and BRC standards

* Take responsibility for recruitment, training and ongoing development of the team

* Train and mentor teams, whilst managing performance as needed

What we are looking for:

* Prior team management experience within a manufacturing environment

* Confident in motivating and developing a team

* Prior food industry experience preferred

* Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

* Organised with great communication skills

* Able to build good working relationships at all levels

* Food hygiene qualification preferred

* Basic understanding of HACCP principles
