A new Senior Quantity Surveyor opportunity has arisen with an exceptionally progressive & success civil engineering contractor, known locally for their solid reputation built up over the last 30+ years

A family run business, they are known for their delivering of schemes up to £10M, to include:

Asphalt Surfacing
Foul and Surface Water Drainage
Section 38 & 278 works 
Large Groundworks  The Role
  
This role will be commercially responsible for managing a portfolio of civil engineering projects across the Somerset region, as well as some work winning and business development duties - everyone mucks in here! 

Key Duties to include: 

Review new / varied items and check quotations of new rates and conditions
Maintain the timely submission of applications and final accounts 
Assist with reviewing and commenting on tender documentation during tender period
Internal reporting and forecasting
Assist with subcontract management from negotiation and preparation of sub-contract orders
Prepare and negotiate claims in conjunction with the senior management team.
Vetting of final accounts and preparing final account reports The Requirements 

Aside from the obvious experience (ideally 5-8 years under your belt), the following will be a huge advantage:

Degree Qualified 
Experience of managing multiple projects
Proven portfolio of projects inclusive of groundworks / earthworks or small civils schemes (to £5M)
Honest, loyal individual with a bit of something about them! What else?
