Pyramid8 are recruiting for a full-time permanent Production Manager based in Wakefield for one of our Print and display clients.

Key Purpose of Role:

To ensure that jobs are manufactured correctly, cost effectively and delivered / installed on time in accordance with the customer specification and quality requirements.

To effectively control stock levels, new materials, waste management and Goods In/Out

To ensure all production departments are clear on priorities and workflow throughout their shifts.

To drive best practice QC procedures and processes. Focus on continued improvements and efficiencies across all departments to reduce costs and drive profitability

Work closely with the project team to drive effective workflow scheduling within the required timelines. Advising on resource plans and machine capacities.

Ensure effective communication across all areas of the business with clear updates and handovers.

To manage and drive a highly motivated and driven team, focusing on the development of skills and cross training.

To ensure all aspects of Health & Safety are always followed and adhered to, by all team members.

Key Responsibilities:

* Effective management of direct reports. To provide motivational leadership through continuous coaching, training & development, maximising performance to achieve the required standard in their areas of responsibility

* To effectively liaise with the Project Team regarding:

* deployment of a daily prioritised work schedule to the production floor and Installation team

* the adjustment of the production schedule as required.

* To ensure that the Production Team is sufficiently resourced to meet production requirements.

* To ensure that all team members time sheets are completed accurately and on time

* To promote continuous improvement, to achieve both quick wins and longer-term process improvements.

* Ensuring nonvalue added activity is reduced in all production and installation processes

* Improved efficiencies & maximise margin

* Minimising waste.

* Managing change to meet business requirements.

* To ensure that production / quality / installation processes, equipment being used, and the working environment are conducive to producing a high-quality product / service.

* To monitor production activity to ensure that the appropriate production methods are employed, and that sufficient due care is taken to meet the customer’s build and quality specifications.

* To ensure that rejected product / non-conformance is rectified as high priority.

* To ensure that correct non-conformance paperwork is raised and processed with every reject.

* To conduct and manage technical trials, colour management, repro projects, fingerprinting/profiling and calibrating machinery, for existing equipment and the set-up of all new print machinery. To work with external suppliers and experts where appropriate.

* To influence the growth and development of the print and 3D department through marketplace evaluation, attending exhibitions and ensuring the business is fully knowledgeable with the latest technology and understand new products and machinery.

* To ensure that a preventive maintenance programme is in place. To effectively manage the timely completion of the maintenance plan and command and control all planned and unplanned events to optimise performance and production cost. To ensure that scheduled maintenance is communicated and agreed with the Project Team and that they are notified of any unplanned downtime.

* To ensure that both goods in and out are well organised and adequately resourced to sufficiently support production. To ensure materials are ready and available for production when required.

* To ensure that finished product is well packaged, labelled and delivered according to the agreed delivery date.

* To promote and uphold company performance standards and ideology (on time delivery, quality, manufacturing, continuous improvement, housekeeping and work ethic).

* To champion safe working practices. To ensure that you and your team understand and comply with all company policies and procedures in relation to health and safety at work. To drive and maintain a safe working environment and in meeting regulatory requirements.

* To establish and develop collaborative relationships within and across the company
