Job Title: SMSTS Site Supervisor
Location: Milton Keynes
Duration: 3 Months (Potential for Permanent Placement)
Overview: An experienced and hands-on Working Supervisor is required for a lodge refurbishment project in Milton Keynes. This managerial role involves leading a team of multi-skilled tradespeople, ensuring high standards of quality and safety on site. Ideal for a time-served carpenter or joiner who has progressed into management, this role offers the opportunity to work with a growing contractor on an initial three-month basis, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance and future project needs.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage daily operations of lodge refurbishment, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.
* Act as a hands-on supervisor, performing on-site tasks while leading a team of multi-traders.
* Coordinate work schedules, manage resources, and optimise workflow to meet project objectives.
* Enforce and maintain health and safety standards on site, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
* Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing updates on progress and addressing any issues promptly.
* Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to uphold Fairmead’s standards of excellence.
* Lead, motivate, and support the team to deliver high-quality work and maintain professionalism.
Requirements:
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification – essential.
* CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card – essential.
* First Aid certification – essential.
* Previous experience as a site supervisor, ideally in refurbishment or similar projects.
* Background as a time-served carpenter or joiner, with progression into a supervisory or managerial role.
* Strong leadership skills with a balanced approach to hands-on work and supervisory responsibilities.
* Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
