On behalf of our highly successful client, we are recruiting for an experienced Senior Buyer to join their civil engineering company. This well-respected firm, based in East Yorkshire, works on a variety of civil engineering projects under framework agreements with both private and local authorities. With a long-standing team and impressive growth curve, they offer a dynamic environment that encourages growth and development.

Role Overview:
This is a full-time, office-based position for a Senior Buyer primarily focused on placing subcontract orders. The role involves handling orders on a back-to-back basis using both NEC and JCT contract frameworks, negotiating with subcontractors, and ensuring the procurement of materials and services aligns with project timelines. Responsibilities include:

Placing and managing subcontract orders.
Negotiating with subcontractors, evaluating quotations, and conducting price comparisons.
Monitoring supplier performance and updating the preferred suppliers list.
Streamlining procurement processes for timely delivery of materials and services. About the candidate:

Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
In-depth experience with NEC and JCT contract documents.
Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
Extensive background in procurement and supply chain management.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and written communication.
Ability to analyse market trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong supplier relationships.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Knowledge of contract law and procurement regulations.
A minimum of 10 years' experience in procurement within the civil engineering  or construction industry.
Strong financial and numerical acumen.
Exceptional negotiation and networking skills.
