About the role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in supporting students with Down Syndrome, you will work 1:1 with a student, helping them navigate their school day, fostering both academic growth and personal development. Your role will involve close collaboration with the classroom teacher and the SEN team, tailoring learning activities to suit the individual needs of the student. Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly Down Syndrome, is preferred but not essential.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support for a child with Down Syndrome in KS1.
• Assist with daily activities and ensure the student is fully integrated into the classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN professionals to develop personalised learning plans.
• Encourage social interaction, personal development, and academic growth.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training in SEN education.
