We are looking for a Textiles Teacher to join our vibrant team starting in September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students in textiles while also being flexible to teach across other areas of Design Technology (DT). The role will involve delivering textiles lessons alongside covering a range of other DT subjects as required, including Product Design, Graphics, and potentially Resistant Materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach textiles to students across various year groups, from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in textiles, including design, construction, fabric manipulation, and fashion.
Cover other areas of Design Technology as needed, including but not limited to Product Design, Graphics, and Resistant Materials.
Provide a positive and supportive learning environment, tailoring lessons to meet the needs of all students.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote a safe, creative space for students to experiment and grow.
Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and ensure all students reach their full potential.
Collaborate with colleagues across the DT department to create a cohesive curriculum and share best practices.
Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities, clubs, and school events.
About You:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
A strong background in Textiles, Fashion Design, or a related field.
Experience or willingness to teach other areas of Design Technology (Product Design, Graphics, Resistant Materials).
Passionate about developing students' creative and practical skills across multiple DT disciplines.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to adapt to a variety of teaching environments and student needs.
A collaborative team player with a commitment to the wider school community and continuous professional development.

Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check*
Have recent experience working with children or young people
Have a warm and friendly nature to be able to build positive relationships with pupils
Have a creative arts background that you can incorporate into schools
*All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
