Job Title: Commercial Lead
Contract Type: Contractor - 6 month initial length
Day Rate: £735 (Inside IR35)
Location: Remote (occasional travel to a Post Office location may be required)
Role Purpose
The Commercial Lead is a pivotal figure in the Programme’s success, shaping support structures for various systems. This role involves crafting commercial agreements that incentivise supplier performance and protect the Post Office's interests. The Lead will collaborate closely with the Programme and Procurement teams, managing commercial negotiations and supporting the overall procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement: Highlight the commercial and financial impacts of contract splits to stakeholders.
Pricing Strategies:
Assess current charging mechanisms.
Propose pricing options, ensuring services are correctly categorized and flexible.
Performance Incentives:
Develop financial mechanisms to incentivize suppliers and secure remedies for underperformance.
Facilitate discussions to determine the best mechanisms and ensure these are documented.
Contract Drafting: Draft contract clauses that accurately reflect agreed pricing and commercial mechanisms.
Bid Evaluation: Develop and manage financial models, answer bidder queries, and conduct financial evaluations of supplier bids.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience:
Extensive experience in commercial roles within the IT industry.
Skilled in creating commercial models and contract schedules, including service credits, risk-sharing, and outcome-based pricing.
Proven track record of developing financial evaluation models for procurement processes.
Experience managing IT service transitions and associated commercial negotiations.
