Job Title: Team Manager – Children & Families

Job Overview: This is an exciting permanent opportunity for Senior/Advanced Practitioners looking to step into a managerial role or experienced Team Managers seeking a new challenge. The role involves leading a team of social workers to deliver high-quality services, ensuring compliance with statutory duties, and working within the strategic framework to support vulnerable children and young people across Gloucestershire. As a Team Manager, you will oversee case management, provide supervision, and contribute to the continuous development of service delivery within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of social workers, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Develop a team plan aligned with Children’s Services strategic objectives.
Provide management oversight of all cases with a clear understanding of risks and ensuring statutory duties are met.
Ensure compliance with Children’s Services policies, procedures, and best practices.
Quality assure team members’ work through observations, reflective supervision, and adherence to GCC’s quality assurance framework.
Build and maintain positive relationships with internal colleagues and external partner agencies.
Support and protect vulnerable children and young people across the County.Required Qualifications:
Social Work England registration.
Experience at Senior/Advanced Practitioner level.
A recognised qualification in Social Work.
Completion of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
A full driving licence and willingness to drive.
Enhanced DBS clearance.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a Team Manager within a statutory children’s social work setting.Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of child protection procedures and statutory requirements.
Ability to effectively manage and resolve complex cases.
Commitment to the professional development of the team and self.Work Environment:
Hybrid working model (2-3 days in the office per week).

Salary: £50,788 - £52,805 per annum, depending on experience.
Annual retention payment of £2,000.
Welcome payment of £5,000.
25.5 days annual leave, rising to 30.5 days after 5 years of continuous service.
Relocation allowance of up to £8,000 (terms and conditions apply).
Hybrid working opportunities (2-3 days in the office).
