Job Summary:

As a Team Leader in a residential children's home, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day operations and supporting the care team to provide the highest quality care for the children. You will be instrumental in creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive. Your leadership will foster a positive team dynamic, focused on delivering child-centered care, promoting staff development, and ensuring positive outcomes for the children in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

* Lead, supervise, and support a team of care staff to ensure high standards of care and support are consistently provided.

* Promote a positive, inclusive working environment that encourages team collaboration and professional growth.

* Ensure staff are well-supported and trained to carry out their roles effectively, offering guidance and development opportunities.

Regulatory Compliance:

* Assist in ensuring the home operates in compliance with all relevant Ofsted regulations, legislation, and statutory requirements.

* Support the preparation for Ofsted inspections, contributing to maintaining at least a "Good" rating.

Safeguarding:

* Act as a safeguarding lead in the absence of the Registered Manager, ensuring the safety and welfare of all children in the home.

* Respond to safeguarding concerns promptly, following established procedures and statutory guidance to protect the well-being of the children.

Team and Resource Management:

* Manage staff rotas and oversee the delegation of duties, ensuring that staffing levels are sufficient to meet the needs of the children.

* Support the Registered Manager in overseeing the efficient use of resources and budget management.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

* Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).

* Previous experience in a senior role within a children's residential care setting.

* Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and child protection.

* Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.

Desirable:

* Experience working with children with emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD).

* A proven track record of contributing to positive Ofsted inspection outcomes.
