JRRL are seeking a Workroom Manager for their client - a local company creating handmade curtains and roman blinds. Due to the continuing expansion, our client is now looking to hire a Workroom Manager, working on site and supporting in running a busy team of 6 sewing staff.
Full time - Monday to Friday 7.30am till 3pm
As the Workroom Manager, you will be responsible for various key tasks, including:
Overseeing a team of 6 sewing staff (3 full-time and 3 part-time) to ensure efficient workflow.
Managing quality control processes to maintain high standards for completed items.
Handling manufacturing queries from both staff and clients.
Co-ordinating client and supplier communications.
Taking responsibility for ordering materials to ensure seamless workroom operations.
Scheduling and managing staff rotas.
Handling invoicing and ensuring timely payment.
Using pricing software to accurately price jobs.
Person specification for the Workroom Manager:
Must have a love of fabrics.
Ideally someone that has experience of making curtains or blinds.
Confident with administration tasks such as invoicing and scheduling of staff rotas.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the confidence to speak to clients.
Confident with quality control and raising issues around this.
