Position Title: MIG and TIG Welder

Location: Feltham, TW14    

Employment Type: Full Time    

Salary: £20 to £22 per hour 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled MIG and TIG Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal components using MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding techniques. This position requires precision and attention to detail, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform MIG and TIG welding operations on a variety of metals including aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine layout, sequence of operations, and identity of components to be welded.

Set up welding machines and select appropriate filler metals and settings based on materials and project requirements.

Clean, prepare, and assemble metal parts and components for welding.

Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding equipment and tools.

Adhere to safety protocols and wear protective gear such as gloves, masks, and welding helmets.

Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure project deadlines are met.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a welding apprenticeship or technical program preferred.

Certification in MIG and TIG welding (AWS or equivalent) is highly desirable.

Proven experience as a MIG and TIG welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.

Strong understanding of welding techniques, metallurgy, and materials science.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions.

Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials and equipment.

Exposure to loud noises, bright lights, and welding fumes.

Work Environment:

Industrial or manufacturing setting.

May involve working in confined spaces or at heights.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required
