Performance Services Officer
(maternity cover)
37 hours per week
Salary range £26,699 to £28,183 per annum (dependent upon experience)
39 days annual leave (including Bank Holiday and Company days) + 2 wellbeing days a year + weekly exercise and wellbeing hours
This is a dual based role working from Lilleshall National Sports Centre, nr Newport, Shropshire (3/4 days) and from home
This is a temporary role to cover for maternity absence lasting up to 9 months.

We are looking for a Performance Services Officer to join our Performance Sport team to implement the performance services systems and processes to ensure delivery of the World Class Programme (WCP) across the British Gymnastics disciplines. This will involve the effective planning, delivery and monitoring of performance services.
The Role
The main responsibilities of the role are:
Support the assessment of the Performance Service delivery for efficiency and effectiveness in relation to the Vision and Strategy of the World Class Programme.
Work with the Olympic Performance Manager to generate ideas and solutions for the improvement of processes to the service delivery model resulting in improved efficiency and effectiveness.
Deliver Performances Services activities to improve the ‘customer’ service and experience.
Process all expenditure relevant to the discipline/s; monitoring/reporting against budget on a monthly basis; where applicable attending budget and forecast meetings and liaising with the Performance Services Manager to report budget progress.
Review the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the discipline to assess suitability
In conjunction with the Performance Services Team, develop a range of SOP’s to improve consistency and alignment and customer experience across all disciplines.
Work with the Coaching teams and Sport Science and Medicine Team to embed the SOP’s in a suitably aligned manner that supports the Performance Team Strategies for the LA Olympic Cycle.
Work with the Performance Services Manager to implement the Performance Services Database aligned to the needs of the Performance Disciplines. E.g. Athlete/Coach/Official data management, event planning and entry, FIG license management, medical information, squad information, etc
Work closely with the Head National Coach to co-ordinating the programme/calendar of events for designated discipline/s, including the production and distribution of the calendar of events, competition notifications, selection criteria, camp and competition details etc.
Managing/monitoring the logistics, administration and financial expenditure for training camps, competitions and Internationals, including the organisation of travel, transport, facilities, equipment, kit, medical cover, welfare cover, FIG licenses, consent forms etc.
Fulfilling official duties as required e.g. pastoral care at major/home competitions, training camps.
Providing a first point of contact for the athletes/coaches/parents; answering/fielding/escalating technical queries where appropriate e.g. prescribed medication, selection criteria, competition equipment etc.
Be the main point of contact for the technical committee, to provide assistance in relation to facilitate of the administration, finance and logistics processes, within the programme.
Attending Joint Technical Committee meetings and NPRG meetings to work alongside the Technical Committees, keep up to date with the actions and issues and represent the interests of the Performance Services Team
Attending British Championships for designated discipline/s to support the work of the Organisation and TC and represent the Performance Services Team.
The Person
Applicants will need to demonstrate:
Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills for developing relationships, sharing information, presenting technical details, disseminating information, working with volunteers etc
Good organisational skills in order to manage a diverse work programme; the ability to plan in advance, to prioritise time and tasks, to co-ordinate/organise/monitor several activities simultaneously and meet deadlines
Competent administration skills and good working knowledge of IT systems and databases
A good understanding of budgets and financials
Attention to detail and the ability to work sensitively with confidential information
A good understanding of/compliance with a range of rules/regulations/standards/processes
Flexibility in relation to working hours and travel i.e. for attending meetings and events at weekends.
Work with colleagues to build relationships across the business, creating positive relationships, collaborating and challenging each other to increase opportunities, new ways of working and improve processes in a courtesy and respectful manner.
An Enhanced DBS will be required for the post
