My client is a leader in the supply of sophisticated laboratory based instrumentation, used in a wide range of applications, including automation and robotics, and optical visualisation systems.

The Role - Workshop Engineer, Laboratory Instrumentation

Following expansion, they seek to recruit an enthusiastic Workshop Repair Engineer, responsible for the service and repair of their full range of sophisticated Laboratory Instrumentation, including automation and robotics, and optical visualisation systems.

The right person will bring enthusiasm and work closely with the In-House and Field personnel, taking responsibility for the maintenance, calibration and repair of their highly sophisticated instruments sent to the workshop by UK customers, and will be committed to delivering industry leading service levels.

Full responsibilities include:

Completing preventative maintenance, calibration and /or repair on a wide range of instruments sent to the workshop

Providing quality technical support to customers via telephone and email

Ensuring accurate cost estimates are sent to all customers for work undertaken and purchase orders received

Completing all service records and provide correct documentation for all work to the customers

Taking responsibility of and manage In-House support tickets to meet the service KPIs

Performing maintenance, functional checks and repairs on demonstration and loan instruments between use

Accurately controlling spare parts inventory by following the correct processes and ensuring accurate reporting

Maintaining the workshop to ensure compliance with H&S requirements and a clean working environment

Working collaboratively with other departments to maintain the smooth running of the organisation and high service levels delivered to customers.

Your Background - Workshop Engineer, Laboratory Instrumentation

To be considered for this exciting role, you will ideally be able to demonstrate a background in the repair of electronic or electro-mechanical equipment, gained within any industry sector as full product training will be provided.

You should have a qualification in an engineering or electronic discipline.

Applications are also encouraged from Repair Engineers or Service Engineers from other sectors, seeking an opportunity to break into the laboratory instrumentation industry.
