Contract Type: Initial 1 year Fixed-Term Contract

We're a public corporation, set up by the Pensions Act 2004 and run by an independent Board. Our purpose is to protect the future of millions of people throughout the UK who belong to defined benefit pension schemes. When these schemes fail, we’re ready to help. We do this by paying our members, charging a levy and investing for the long term.
We’re equivalent in size to a top 5 UK pension scheme, with assets in excess of £32bn, and have developed a highly sophisticated, best-in-class investment strategy. Our culture combines private sector standards with a public service ethos.
In 2024, we have had considerable industry engagement as we have taken on board the Department for Work and Pension’s (DWP) review recommendations for the PPF to work with the Government to explore opportunities to use our capabilities and skills for wider public benefit.
We’re currently seeking an independent co-opted member of the Remuneration Committee on an initial one year fixed-term contract. The Committee serves to ensure fulfilment of responsibilities set out in the Pensions Act as well as people strategies the PPF has in place.
Committee Members are required to read detailed papers in advance of meetings, typically held five or six times a year, and bring independent insight and guidance to ensure the organisations continued success.
Individuals should be an experienced member or adviser of Remuneration Committees supplemented by remuneration management experience, i.e. CPO, from an insurance, pension (or other financial) institution.
You’ll be experienced with the public sector and remuneration setting in that context, as well as strategic change in an organisation of a similar scale to the PPF. Finally, you’ll understand what a non-executive role entails and provide evidence and experience based contribution in committee meetings.
Co-opted members are paid £500 per meeting they attend. Meetings take place in person typically at either our Croydon Head Office or London Cannon Street, or occasionally by telephone / video conferencing.
Interested? Please click 'Apply' at the top of this page. You’ll have the opportunity to upload your CV and submit a short covering letter / personal statement.
We’re proud to be a Disability Confident Leader, the highest accreditation under the Disability Confident Scheme. If you have a disability and meet the essential criteria for this role you will be guaranteed an interview.
We embrace diverse talent welcoming people with different beliefs, backgrounds and ways of working. Whatever your background, and however you identify, you’ll be welcome here
