Yard Operative/Forklift Driver

Our client based in Middlesbrough are looking for a Yard Operative/Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our yard, including receiving and dispatching goods, maintaining plant and equipment, and providing general labour support to the team.
Key responsibilities…
Operate a Counterbalance Forklift.
Responsible for all loading/unloading of plant.
Prepare, maintain and clean equipment, using a pressure washer where required.
Check that orders are correct before dispatch to a customer.
Ensure plant is stored and stacked correctly and safely.
Complete and record required equipment checks/inspections both periodically and prior to dispatch.
Accurate recording of both inward/outward stock movements on a daily basis.
Inspect equipment for any damage in accordance with our quality control standards.
Complete accurate stock checks as directed, reporting any discrepancies direct to the Depot Operations Manager.
Observe general yard/workshop discipline, promoting a high standard of behaviour and an adaptable approach to tasks allocated.
Adhere to all Marwood working practises and Health & Safety Legislation to ensure the welfare of all depot staff and visitors.
Work collaboratively with all other business functions to ensure the smooth operation of the yard.
Maintain clean, tidy and safe working area(s), ensuring all equipment and consumables are stored in the appropriate manner.
What we’re looking for…
Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment.
Counterbalance Forklift - current valid license highly desirable but not essential.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety and efficiency
Physically able to lift and maneuver heavy objects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
Working conditions…
The role is based in a busy yard environment, with regular exposure to the outdoors.
The role requires frequent lifting, bending and manual handling.
The role may involve working at heights, using ladders and stairs.
Full-time, Temp to Perm
