Service Engineer - Permanent role - ASAP start - South East (Mainly London work) - £35k - £45k PA (Depending on experience)
The Role: The Service Engineer (SE) will be part of a team, which as a group will perform the duties to maintain and repair Security Systems installed at customer’s premises. The role requires a great deal of initiative and autonomy. Flexibility is essential in adapting to future changes within the company and fluctuations within the workload.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
These duties will be based upon all or part of the following:
* The Service Engineer (SE) will be allocated work by either the Service Administrator (SA) or Service Manager (SM).
* Carry out reactive fault finding and rectification on CCTV, IP CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, Door Entry Systems, Server Hardware/Software and Workstation Hardware/Software.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance on CCTV, IP CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, Door Entry Systems, Server Hardware/Software and Workstation Hardware/Software.
* Be on the 24hr 7days a week 365 days a year callout rota to provide reactive fault finding and rectification out of hours. Currently this is shared between the engineers on a 1 in 4 basis. This will be paid in addition to your basic salary.
* Your work area will be defined but we expect flexibility as we have clients throughout the UK and Europe. You must be willing to stay away as required by the SA.
* The SE will attend client premises as required in a timely manner, be courteous, of a professional appearance, and ensure the client is kept fully informed of job progress.
* Where the SE experiences difficulty in fulfilling their duties, the SM will be advised immediately.
* The SE will complete the relevant service paperwork as provided.
* On completion of each job, the client will be offered a demonstration that the problem is resolved or a discussion about the work carried out as part of the Routine Maintenance. Specifically, the client is to be asked ‘Is there anything else we can provide assistance with?’
* Any unrectified faults, return visits or parts required will be notified by telephone to the SM or SA prior to leaving site.
* The SE will feed back any relevant information to ensure problems encountered are dealt with so as not to reoccur, and areas where service and maintenance have gone particularly well are also to be highlighted.
* The SE will monitor the progress of their work at all times and will advise the SM of any changes through regular Service Meetings.
* The SM will ensure that all applicable documentation is provided to the SE to enable the correct completion of his duties.
* The SE may at any time have other engineers or Junior Engineers under his responsibility. He will be expected to monitor and assist those other engineers in the progression of their roles.
* The SE is to be responsible for informing the SM of any occurrences whereby the Junior Engineers are performing exceptionally well, or alternatively, where improvements can be made. Specific notice should be taken of their timekeeping.
Dress in a professional manner as fitting to the task being performed and as the representative of the company. Carry identification at all times.
Comply with BS EN ISO9001:2000 and NSI (NACOSS) procedures.
Carry out any reasonable requests from management.
