Job Role: HGV Technician

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire

Contract Type: Full time / Permanent role

Working hours / days: 08:00 – 16:30 Monday – Friday

Hourly rate: Up to £21.00 per hour depending on experience (Overtime paid at up to £31.50 per hour)

Job description:

Are you an experienced HGV Technician? My client is a well-established workshop facility that specialises in heavy commercial vehicle maintenance.

At this time, they have an opening for an HGV Technician to join them to work on a Monday – Friday day shift.

You will be responsible for the ongoing inspection, service, maintenance and repair on a wide range of commercial vehicles ranging from 7.5t trucks to tractor unit and everything in between.

A significant part of this role will be preparing the vehicles presented to you for their MOT inspections.

Daily duties:

* Maintain all vehicles, trailers and workshop equipment to company/legal standards to ensure maximum operational availability for the Transport Department

* Ensure that the care and condition of all Company equipment is maintained and report all defects/damages

* Maintain a recording monitoring system to comply with legal and company requirements

* Promote safe working practices and ensure that site Health & Safety standards comply with Company Policy

Working Hours / Rates:

This role is available on a straight Monday – Friday DAY SHIFT

08:00 – 16:30 with half an hour unpaid lunch break

Basic hourly rate of up to £21.00 per hour with overtime available paid at time and a half

What we need from you:

* Completed an HGV/LGV apprenticeship

* Your own tools

* Full UK driving license

* Class 1 license would be beneficial but isn’t essential for this role

* Previous experience in reversing and moving vehicles into the workshop is desirable but training will be given
