SAP FICO Consultant

Contract role: 12 to 18 months

Location: London, hybrid

A global FTSE listed organisation are looking for an experienced Consultant for Finance SAP - FICO to lead and manage end-to-end technology projects. The ideal candidate will drive the delivery of programs within the technology roadmap, ensuring the successful implementation of SAP FICO solutions. This role involves leading a global team, managing customer relationships, and overseeing the integration of SAP FICO with other modules.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leading a team of geographically dispersed resources to deliver technology projects on time and within budget.
- Ensure appropriate resources are available and aligned to deliver projects on time and within scope, collaborating closely with Resource Planners.
- Drive customer satisfaction by identifying and resolving issues quickly and delivering excellence across all projects
- Promote consistency across teams, advocating for simplicity, reuse, and standardization of processes.
- Lead the implementation of key projects, providing both technical and business leadership to ensure successful delivery of the technology roadmap.
- Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to develop business cases for new initiatives, detailing timelines, costs, and resources required.
- Enforce and uphold standard IS/IT methodologies, processes, and tools
- Provide strong leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Evaluate potential applications, infrastructure, and tools, identifying opportunities to reduce redundancy and streamline processes.
- Proactively partner with business units and global process owners to propose solutions that align with strategic goals and the technology roadmap.
- Recommend tailored technology solutions that meet business needs and support long-term strategic objectives.
- Continuously refine the technical delivery model, driving improvements and managing the delivery across all associated teams
- Offer expertise in SAP Finance FICO and its integration with other modules
- Manage vendor relationships, supporting commercial negotiations and ensuring project success through clear communication and planning.
- Estimate project timelines, plan resources effectively, and define ways of working, communication strategies, and escalation procedures.
- Ensure comprehensive understanding of the impact of technology changes at the infrastructure, security, network, and application levels.

Key Competencies:

- Strong technical expertise in SAP, with proven experience in configuration and functional support.
- Ability to provide advanced SAP functional support to business units and drive new developments from idea to implementation.
- Competency in requirements gathering, documentation, and the delivery of RICEFs (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Relationship Management, Architecture, and Sustaining and Support teams.
- Develop and deliver training materials for new solutions and prepare functional/technical specifications for audit purposes.
- Experience working with Web Applications and Middleware teams on integration - projects.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and project management skills.

Skills/Knowledge:

- In-depth understanding of SAP functionality, including product costing, material ledger, profitability analysis (COPA), and integration with modules like SD, PP, MM, and IM.
- Proven experience in Global P-Card migration and deployment, ensuring successful implementation and integration with finance systems.
- Experience with full SAP life-cycle implementations, including post-Go-Live support.
- Expertise in SAP FI/CO configuration and its interactions with other modules.
- Knowledge of integration points between manufacturing processes and finance, with experience creating functional specifications for BW HANA reports.
