The Opportunity
Arqiva is growing its core IT Platform Team, and we are seeking an expert Linux SME with a focus on automation, specialising in the Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). Join us at an exciting time as we transform how we work moving from manual deployments to automation pipelines and from monolithic systems to containerization.
This is a key role for someone with a passion for innovation and deep expertise in AAP, who will ensure the performance, availability, and security of our Linux systems, supporting both development and production environments.
What You’ll Do
* Design, architect, and maintain the Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), including upgrades and best practices.
* Develop and manage automation scripts and tools to streamline Linux system operations.
* Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support infrastructure and application deployment.
* Automate lifecycle management for Linux systems: provisioning, configuration, patching, and decommissioning.
* Act as a Technical SME, contributing to Agile project delivery and providing design authority for projects.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation opportunities.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation processes and tools.
* Support on-premises systems, with some integration into cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
Must-Haves
* Extensive experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), including architecture, deployment, upgrades, and playbook development.
* Expert-level RHEL knowledge (7/8/9).
* Proven experience with Red Hat Satellite for system management.
* Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, YAML) and IaC expertise.
* Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
* Familiarity with vSphere virtualization.
* Ability to obtain SC Clearance.
Nice-to-Haves
* Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
* Hands-on experience with Packer and Terraform.
