Senior Recruitment Consultant / Divisional Manager – Civil Engineering (White Collar)

Basic Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, plus commission + benefits

OTE from £60,000 to £100,000 in the first year alone.

Office Location: Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire (just off M25 & on the Metropolitan line)

About the Opportunity:

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Senior Consultant or Divisional Manager to work within the civil engineering market.

We are open to considering candidates from any of the following backgrounds:

* Ideally, we are looking to target someone with a proven recruitment background within the civil engineering sector (i.e. rail, infrastructure, utilities, etc.) in the UK. Knowledge of the sector, clients, and skill sets will make the transition easy and as we already have key clients in place, as well as a very established database, someone from this background would be able to get up and running in a very short period of time.

* However, we are also willing to consider individuals who have held Senior Consultant or Team Leader roles within other recruitment areas. If the right drive and previous experience can be shown at this level, the transition into a new sector is one most experienced recruiters should be comfortable with and guidance from senior staff here at Cityscape will quickly be able to offer the market knowledge you need to absorb.

* Also, we are open to individuals from a degree-qualified construction / civil engineering direct background who are looking for a step into recruitment. Your market knowledge/understanding could give you the perfect starting point for an excellent career in this sector's sales environment and a Senior Consultant position could be available to the right person.

We can offer an excellent path for individuals from each of these backgrounds.

The role itself will be split between a billing function (our leaders do exactly that and lead from the front) and that of team development. Initially, you will have two consultants working alongside you in the team, but there is plenty of room for natural expansion, to involve the addition of further team members and the growth of the whole division.

The sector of work will include a variety of areas within the civil engineering market including; rail & underground, water & utilities, roads & highways plus others. These markets allow for involvement on some of the UK’s major projects such as HS2 and Thames Tideway, but also offer relationships with smaller privately owned businesses working on government-funded local schemes. Existing clients are based throughout the UK from Southampton up to Scotland and in this role, you will be expected to be able to deal with a variety of individuals at all levels of these organisations (i.e. we place permanent white-collar staff from engineers up to directors and therefore engage with clients and candidates of all levels).

Requirements:

As well as previous recruitment or sector-specific experience, to be successful in this market you will need to have a confident personality and a willingness to work with a variety of people. You need to be driven and highly motivated in order to gain the success and financial gain this career can truly offer. Time management and organisation, combined with a good work ethic and likable approach equals success in what we do.

Remuneration / Salary:

We base salaries on the experience and abilities of each individual but offer beyond the typical level in this industry. You can expect a starting basic salary from £35,000 up to £50,000 if successful.

You will also be paid commission on all placements you make increasing your yearly earnings significantly. Our commission structure starts at 10% of all billings and progresses upwards through five higher tiers to 35%. Consultants on target can easily add £30,000 to £50,000 (or more) to their salaries in the first few years alone with commission. We operate a no threshold commission structure.
