Brain Injury Support Worker in, TN21, East Sussex. A full-time position offering 12 and 24-hour shifts for a professional and experienced Brain Injury Support Worker to assist a 52-year-old male live independently. Up to £386.85 Gross per Shift
Wage/Salary: £17.00 Weekdays | £19.00 Weekends | 12.15-hour shift starting at £206.55 | Sleep in shifts starting at £148.00 | All figures quoted in gross
Driver Essential? Yes, WAV for use on duty. Own car preferred to travel to and from the client’s home, as public transport limited but available.
Essential: Brain Injury or neurological (stoke or spinal injury) experience, manual handling and experience supporting a client in the community. This role is open to *female applicants only.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Minimum 36.45 contact hours per week, additional sleeping night shifts available. Shift times: 7.45am – 8.00pm, or 7.45pm – 8.00am. Rota provided 4 weeks in advance, and will include weekdays, weekends and sleeping nights.

About this client: Isaac is 52 years old, his nearest and dearest describe him as a true family man, and gentleman, a devoted husband to his supportive wife, and a loving father to his teenager daughter. He is very funny, and has a great sense of humour, enjoys bantering back and forth and is a big football fan. He enjoys watching movies in his snug room or going to the cinema, playing cards, gardening, going to the gym, swimming, and painting. Isaac is a carpenter by trade, and he has a workshop at home where he continues to enjoy woodwork. He has a gym and swimming pool also on site. In 2019 Isaac sustained a TBI and complex orthopaedic injuries following a RTA; he is a full-time wheelchair user (self-propel wheelchair and powered wheelchair on site). Isaac can become fatigued, struggle with short term memory and can be impulsive. He requires support with transfers, either with another team member or using a standing/transfer aid. Isaac communicates verbally and works hard on his rehabilitation and is making excellent progress. Isaac is Type 1 Diabetic. Isaac has care plans for every aspect of his care, rehabilitation and medical needs. These plans are followed and implemented step by step, by all members of his team.
Overview of role: Isaac’s team provide 2:1 support most days and 1:1 care at night, he sleeps very well so rarely requires any support throughout the night shift. Isaac’s wife plans his weekly routine, packed with activities, and this is shared with all his team to plan for the week ahead. As Isaac’s Brain Injury Support Worker, you will support him both at home and in the community, facilitate him in his role as husband and father, support his rehabilitation, and to live life as his wishes. Isaac needs his team to be high energy, fun, and full of banter and be motivational and advocating for him. His team provide 12- and 24-hour cover. The rota is provided 4 weeks in advance, and you must be available for a minimum of 3-day shifts per week.
