Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor

The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Supervisor to join our team in Reading. In this role, you will oversee the mechanical operations and maintenance of our facility, ensuring that all mechanical systems are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. You will be responsible for supervising a team of engineers and ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
* Supervising and coordinating a team of mechanical engineers and technicians.
* Overseeing the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other building services.
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
* Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve any mechanical issues.
* Planning and scheduling preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
* Providing technical guidance and support to the team and resolving any technical issues that arise.
* Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
* Liaising with other departments and external contractors to ensure smooth operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a supervisory role within the mechanical engineering sector.
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services.
* Relevant qualifications, such as City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other teams.
* A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence.
* A good understanding with all aspects of plumbing.
* DV or SC clearance. (preferred but not essential)
* SSSTS or SMSTS.
