Our client is a regionalised building services contractor with offices in locations across the UK, carrying out Mechanical & Electrical Engineering and Facilities services providing customers with building service solutions throughout the construction and operational phases of any building asset.

Job Details

Our client, an established nationwide FM maintenance service provider, are currently looking to employ an Electrician to carry out a maintenance service role based at a multi-building commercial client site in Swindon.

You will be required to carry out routine planned maintenance tasks as well as reactive works, fault diagnosis, repair and testing of electrical systems, power and lighting.

Experience of working within a similar maintenance environment is required.

Candidates will be time served within an Electrical discipline and hold appropriate industry qualifications  (City and Guilds / NVQ or equivalent). An Electrical Testing qualification (C&G 2391)

A vehicle is accessible while on duty to the two sites being located 1 mile apart. A current driving licence is therefore essential. 

Job role

PPM in adherence to set HVCA engineering standards. All in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act requirement and to company safety procedures and contract specification.
Respond to Reactive Works to include all Mechanical & Electrical and minor fabric issues.
Adhere to the out of hours call out Rota (as required).
Correct and timely completion of paperwork according to company policy and procedure.
Provide engineering condition reports and quotations.
Logbook auditing.
Good customer interface skills.Skills / Training

Demonstrate competence in all areas of your primary trade (with valid certification)
Reasonable understanding and a proactive approach to the following trade skill:
Understanding of the principals; basic fault finding; condensate pump changing and filter cleaning
Electrical: Competent Fault finding; 18th Edition, C&G 2330 levels 2 & 3, NVQ levels   2&3
C & G 2391 Test & Inspection, PAT testing; electrical servicing; basic controls
Fabric: Basic carpentry (door hanging, shelf erecting etc); internal furniture, fittings and decor repairs; external fixtures and fittings repairs; emergency leak repairs and gutter cleaning
Desirable: Minor building/fabric items; controls/hydraulics/pneumatics as requested when necessary
Miscellaneous: meter reading; emergency light testing; water temperature recording; alarm testing.
Minimum of one trade qualification with bias on: Electrical Installations and Test & Inspection Requirements
Reasonable competence or a basic understanding of the other trades where certification permits
Delivery of service excellence
