We are looking for an A-Level Sociology & Criminology Teacher to start Dec 2024, part time and full time applicants considered. There are options to work on a fixed term contract or long term supply, with the possibility of a permanent contract at the end.

PPA time is provided and payment would be to scale. The successful candidate will already have some experience teaching at least one of these subjects, or have studied at least one of these subjects to degree level. ECTs and Overseas Trained Teachers within this field, are welcome.

Requirements:

* QTS, QTLS or equivalent Teaching Licence

* DBS Enhanced Disclosure

* References

* A passion for working with local Secondary schools and colleges to help maintain standards

* Demonstrate effective communication skills, verbal and non-verbal, written, listening and advocacy

* Ability to establish appropriate relationships with young people and other professionals

* Be reliable, enthusiastic, creative and honest

* A sound theoretical knowledge of the subject being taught

* To be able to demonstrate through experience, or qualification an appropriate knowledge of the subject being taught

* Knowledge of Child Protection procedures relating to young people

* Ability to work effectively within a team and encourage a positive team approach

* Ability to engage all students

* Ability to advocate for students and enable them to advocate for themselves

* Effective recording, filing and information sharing skills

* Have a flexible approach to the task and resilience under pressure
