Hours of Work:
This is a part-time role, requiring 24 hours per week. The hours are spread across Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Job Description:
As a Finance Assistant, you will support the finance team in maintaining accurate accounting records and handling day-to-day financial tasks. This role is crucial to the smooth running of the financial operations and offers exposure to various aspects of the finance function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Posting daily cash receipts and managing banking transactions
* Accounts receivable reconciliation and liaising with the bank
* Credit control duties and preparing recharge invoices
* Assisting with monthly management accounts and financial reporting
* Handling accruals, prepayments, and posting journals to the general ledger
* Covering payroll processing in the absence of the primary payroll officer
* Engaging with both customers and suppliers to resolve finance-related queries
* Supporting budget preparation and monitoring internal controls
Skills & Experience:
* AAT Level 3 qualified
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Previous experience in an accounts department, preferably in manufacturing
* Familiarity with financial systems; experience with Epicor is a plus
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* SAGE payroll experience is desirable but not essential
