Job Title: Electrical Project Engineer

Salary: £42,000 per annum (negotiable)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (days)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Project Engineer to join our SMACC business unit. In this role, you will play a vital part in the design, development, and delivery of electrical projects, ensuring that key initiatives are completed to the highest standards, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, to implement modernisation and improvements to plant systems, ensuring reliability, availability, and performance targets are met. Key Responsibilities:
Project Design & Delivery: Lead the design, development, and delivery of electrical-based projects, ensuring technically sound engineering solutions.
Shutdown Coordination: Plan and coordinate electrical engineering operations during plant shutdowns, including major maintenance activities.
Expertise & Problem-Solving: Act as a subject matter expert for new equipment, utilizing your in-depth knowledge to address engineering failures and enhance plant reliability.
Contract Management: Negotiate and manage key electrical contracts, ensuring quality and compliance.
Supplier & Contractor Liaison: Work closely with external suppliers and contractors to provide solutions to production and engineering challenges.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Accountable for budgeting, forecasting, and obtaining competitive quotes for all projects and work undertaken.
Plant Development: Drive the development and modernisation of the plant to improve overall performance and reliability.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental Control standards, including Permit Systems and Safe Working Procedures.
Technical Problem Solving: Interpret drawings and specifications to resolve unexpected technical difficulties as they arise.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives, and participate in stakeholder meetings to provide project updates.Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will:
Have a degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering or a related field.
Demonstrate proven experience in electrical engineering and project management, preferably within an industrial setting.
Possess strong problem-solving and technical expertise, particularly in electrical plant operations and equipment.
Be comfortable working with external suppliers and contractors and have experience in contract negotiation and management.
Have a strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, ensuring compliance in all project activities.
Be an excellent communicator, with the ability to liaise effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Be able to work independently, while also collaborating within a team to meet project deadlines and objectives.Benefits:
