Definition Draughtsperson (CAD Modeller)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and enthusiastic Definition Draughtsperson/CAD Modeller to join a leading provider in advanced missile systems and complex weapon technologies.

Salary: £48,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days per week on-site, based on project needs)
Security Clearance: Applicants must be British citizens or dual UK nationals with British citizenship. Restrictions related to nationality or work rights may apply. Successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

Role Overview:
Join a dynamic and expanding team as a Definition Draughtsperson, a key role within the Mechanical Engineering division. This position offers the chance to contribute to multiple projects across the full product lifecycle. You will work alongside talented engineers to develop the next generation of missile systems, focusing on creating detailed design definitions and leveraging advanced 3D CAD tools to streamline and enhance the production of parametric models.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize 3D CAD software to develop and refine design definitions for missile systems

Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality technical documentation

Enhance the efficiency and accuracy of engineering processes through the creation of robust parametric models

Contribute to continuous improvement of design workflows and technical standards

What we're looking for:

Ideally, an HND/HNC qualification in Mechanical Design or a related field, along with significant practical experience in design definition

Proficiency in translating 3D models into high-quality 2D/3D definitions (preferably with CREO experience)

Strong background in generating engineering drawings with meticulous attention to detail

Solid experience in 3D modelling and evaluating the quality of models (knowledge of 3D annotations is a plus)

Familiarity with BS8888, ISO 1101, ISO 5459, GD&T, and similar technical standards

Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with both domestic and international teams
