Social Worker (Level 1) – Greenwich, London (Chikdren, young people and families)
Pay Rate: £28.42 per hour (Umbrella)

Location: London Borough of Greenwich
Hours: 35 hours per week | Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
Contract: Approx 6 months

Austin Dean Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker (Level 1) to join a committed team in the London Borough of Greenwich. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children, young people, and families.

About the Role:

As a Level 1 Social Worker, you’ll independently manage a caseload, applying first principles to complex or unusual cases. You'll work directly with children, young people, families, carers, and communities, helping them express their needs, make informed decisions, and access the right support. You’ll also contribute to service planning and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

* Undertake assessments and manage risk effectively

* Deliver clear, timely reports and documentation

* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners

* Support children and families to access appropriate services

* Promote best practices and safeguard wellbeing

Requirements:

* DBS

* Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience

* 3 GCSEs (A–C) including English & Mathematics (or equivalent)

* Relevant professional qualification/certification

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

* Excellent time management and IT skills

* Team player with a proactive mindset

* Previous experience in a similar role is essential
