Catering Production Manager

JOB ROLE
As a Works Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead a skilled team of engineers, technicians, and fabricators, managing workflows, schedules, and resources to ensure efficiency and productivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Management: Plan, schedule, and oversee all production activities, ensuring efficient workflow and meeting project deadlines.
Team Leadership: Manage, motivate, and develop the production team, including engineers, fabricators, and other workshop staff.
Resource Allocation: Monitor and allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimise production processes.
Quality Control: Ensure all products and components meet company quality standards and customer specifications through rigorous inspection and testing procedures.
Health & Safety: Enforce health and safety protocols, ensuring the workshop is compliant with all regulatory standards and promoting a safe working environment.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and efficiency gains within the production workflow.
Budget Management: Oversee production budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering, design, and project management teams to ensure smooth communication and coordination across departments.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve any production-related issues or bottlenecks in a timely manner.
Reporting: Maintain clear, accurate records of production data, KPIs, and progress reports, regularly reporting to senior management.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical engineering, fabrication processes, and manufacturing technologies.
Leadership Skills: Proven experience in managing and developing teams, with strong leadership and motivational abilities.
Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently.
Health & Safety: Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Organisational Skills: Excellent planning, organisational, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
IT Skills: Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
Industry Knowledge: Experience in sheet metal fabrication and or welding processes.
Project Management: Familiarity with project management techniques and tools, including Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
Continuous Improvement: Experience implementing process improvements and efficiency initiatives in a production setting
