Teacheractive presents the inspiring chance to work as a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) teaching assistant on a long-term temporary basis at a middle school in Hexham . This is a friendly and welcoming school that believe in high academic standards for everyone. Their aim is that every child grow into a happy, fufilled and successful adult.

We are looking for a strong, inspiring, passionate and confident SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) teaching assistant, equipped with excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with young learners who may need extra support. The successful teaching assistant will be working with an age range of students with various abilities in small groups and a 1:1 basis. 

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant:

Experience in assisting young learners in education on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
Level 2 or Level 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months experience in an education establishment
Team Teach
Excellent communication skills  
Be calm and caring
Experienced with challenging behaviour and resilient
