An exciting Treasury & VAT Accountant opportunity has arisen to join a well-established forward-thinking Public Sector organisation on a permanent full time basis. My client is looking for an individual with existing Treasury & VAT experience who is looking for a role that they can shape and to add value to.

The Treasury & VAT Accountant will work closely with financial advisors and support all areas of Treasury and VAT functions, alongside the duties below;

Key responsibilities of the Treasury & VAT Accountant

Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective financial controls and processes.
Pulling the VAT return together, analysing and interrogating this as appropriate
Prepare accurate financial reports, forecasts, and budgets for assigned teams, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
Analyse financial data, identify trends and variances and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
Complete daily payments to the bank
Work closely with financial advisorsRequired skills and experience of the Treasury & VAT Accountant

A recognised accountancy qualification / part qualification (CIPFA,ACA,ACCA,CIMA) or QBE
Extensive knowledge around treasury activating and placing funds
Money market knowledge
Previous public sector experience
Experience of applying technical accounting knowledge as part of financial management practices.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
