Contract: Permanent
The Role:
* 1:1 Support: As a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a specific child with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
* Group Work: In addition to individual support, you will also be involved in group activities and interventions aimed at promoting social interaction, emotional regulation, and positive behavior.
* Interactive Approach: We are looking for someone who can bring creativity and enthusiasm to their role, using interactive and engaging methods to support learning and development.
* Passionate Mentoring: You will serve as a mentor and role model for the child, inspiring them to believe in themselves and strive for success both academically and personally.

* Patient: Patience is key when working with children with SEMH needs. You understand that progress may be slow at times, but you are committed to supporting the child every step of the way.
* Excellent Communication Skills: You have strong communication skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with the child, their family, and your colleagues. Clear and effective communication is essential for collaborative working.
Desirable Qualifications:
While not essential, the following qualifications and experiences would be highly desirable:
* Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification
* Experience working with children with SEMH needs
* Training in behavior management strategies
* Qualifications in child psychology or mental health support
* Training in therapeutic interventions such as art therapy or play therapy
