My client are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Estimating Manager to join our team at a leading civil engineering contractor based in Preston. The Estimating Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the estimation process for highways and infrastructure projects. This includes leading a team of estimators, ensuring accurate and competitive tender submissions, and providing strategic advice on the commercial aspects of project bids. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the highways sector and a strong understanding of cost estimation, tendering processes, and contract management.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* At least 5-8 years of experience in estimating for highways or civil engineering projects.
* Strong track record of managing the estimation process for large-scale highways or infrastructure projects, ideally with experience in both tendering and post-contract cost management.
* Experience in leading and managing teams of estimators, with a proven ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
* In-depth understanding of the highways sector, including knowledge of relevant industry standards, materials, and construction method
* Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
* A valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card is beneficial.
