A Membership Officer is urgently required for a Euston based Union. The post is temping until December and may go permanent.
The role is mainly office based. Perhaps one day working from home once trained.
The role is for 32.5 hours per week and pays £22.48 per hr (equivalent to £38 000).
The Membership Officer is an integral part of the running of the Union, working together to ensure the provision of a professional, friendly and efficient service to its members. Often the first point of contact for many members.
Reporting to the Membership Manager, this role commands a high level of autonomy, as daily tasks are varied and require accuracy and attention to detail.
Examples of some of these tasks include:
* Ensuring the union’s membership database is accurately maintained.
* Ensuring subscriptions are collected in a timely manner.
* Dealing professionally with membership applications and queries.
* Processing and issuing membership cards.
* Dealing with the subscription system and payments, including direct debits.
* Preparing and issuing lapsing warnings and notices.
* Proactively discouraging resignations.
* Provide and send information to Branches/ /members.
* Banking and recording of cheques and taking card payments.
* Liaison with officials, members, union reps and branch officers.
* Attend and participate at various union events, as and when required.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills/experience:
* Experience of working in a membership organisation (trade union or charity would be favourable, but not essential)
* Knowledge of the media industry and its players
* Excellent numeracy and accuracy
* Hands on experience and competency using a CRM system
