Our FMCG client based in Preston require immediate IT support covering a period of short-term absence, expected to be 8-12 weeks. This role is covering their Technical Support Engineer who is the Senior IT professional based from the UK, reporting into the FD.

As the interim Support Engineer you will shadow the current postholder for a few weeks before their leave. Your role is to maintain and develop the IT and Telcoms infrastructure and systems in the UK.

Responsibilities

* Ensure correct operation of all IT related equipment for the UK operation.

* Manage contact with all 3rd party IT & Telcoms support companies

* Produce and maintain information systems allowing departments to product decisions based on good quality information.

* Maintain a good level of security on site with regards to IT systems

* Maintain IT equipment on site in Preston.

Technical skills

* Microsoft windows server operating systems

* MS Exchange 2003

* MS SQL Server reporting tools

* Sage Line 500

* Understanding of security principles

The ideal candidate will be immediately available to start and be present at their Preston offices daily throughout the contract period.
