Role
To be the owner and driving force for SP Transmission projects of a portfolio from project initiation, through the development phase and manage the handover to delivery team.
To provide leadership and co-ordination across internal & external stakeholder groups to ensure that projects are delivered within agreed timescales with strict adherence to regulatory and licence obligations, including leading & developing large multi-disciplinary teams.
To coordinate & lead all areas of project management associated with the development of the allocated project portfolio.
What you'll be doing
Responsible for the project management of identified project(s) from development through handover to delivery and providing project management controls across all areas of the project
Responsible for the delivery of outputs, incentive metrics, milestones in line with business targets and effectively manage project risk and mitigate the impact of issues that may emerge.
Identify and understand the potential interactions between the various proposed projects and develop initiatives which minimise the impact on deliverability.
Manage interfaces with network outage planning to ensure the outage programme is fully informed by the requirements of the projects’ investment programme.
Creation of project plans and development of accurate capital expenditure forecasts and output projections on assigned projects, with full accountability for project, contractual and financial governance.
Provide input to the management of the regulatory MSIP/LOTI process along with identifying, promoting, and implementing innovation, efficiencies and value engineering.
Promote and implement external and internal stakeholder engagement and community liaison for projects, including compliance with the SPEN Landowners Agreement and Code of Conduct.
Ensure development issues which are not able to be reconciled with the requirements of the overall investment programme are highlighted to management with recommendations for mitigating actions.
What you'll bring
* Degree qualified or equivalent experience with expert project management incl. but not limited to; planning skills, risk & opportunity management, leading high performing teams, investment approval processes, financial forecasting.
* Significant experience of developing/managing infrastructure or transmission projects coupled with exposure to working and leading multi-disciplined teams at a professional
* Experience with working in multi-disciplined teams at a professional level
* Experienced in planning activities for complex and interactive technical projects which have a timeframe lasting many years.
* Ability to devise solutions to complex problems and challenges within large expenditure projects delivering on a timeline with commercial implications.
* Experienced in making balanced decisions, identifying and taking into account all relevant information recognising the benefit of consultation with stakeholders or peers to ensure effective implementation of necessary change – whilst utilising developed negotiation and communication skills.
* Excellent organisation and time management skills.
* Working knowledge of procurement process requirements
* Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
* Experienced in the use of project planning techniques and tools.
* Well-developed consultation and negotiation skills.
* Awareness of regulatory impact upon business revenues
Minimum Requirements:
Significant experience in developing or project managing complex projects - within an
infrastructure or transmission network environment
Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline or another relevant area such as Project
Management / Construction management or equivalent experience.
Clean Driving license - Requirement to travel across SPEN locations.
