The Role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing the financial aspects of school construction projects from inception to completion. This position, located in Canterbury, offers a dynamic work environment where your expertise will directly contribute to the successful delivery of critical educational facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for school projects.
* Monitor project costs, providing regular financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
* Oversee procurement processes, including negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Conduct site visits to assess project progress and address financial challenges.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
* Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in managing school projects.
* Demonstrated experience managing projects from inception to completion.
* Solid understanding of construction contracts and procurement procedures.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
