We are currently recruiting for a Commis Chef for a busy country pub in the Hertfordshire area. Ideal candidate will have gained basic experience of working in a commercial kitchen assisting the head chef in preparing and presenting a wide range of food. This role would suit someone who is looking to develop their experience and skills learning from the Head Chef.

Job specification

* Assist the chef with food preparation and presentation.

* Perform basic tasks including chopping and slicing.

* Follow recipe instructions accurately.

* Always keep the kitchen clean and hygienic.

* Communicate effectively with the head Chef.

* Adhere to kitchen policy.

Requirements

* Minimum of 6 months experience of working in a commercial kitchen

* Access to a car essential due to rural location

* Experience of food preparation

* Able to multitask effectively.

* Effective communication skills

* High level of attention to detail

* Passion for food and learning new skills.

* Excellent work ethic

* Be able to work under pressure.

* Fundamental understanding of food hygiene procedures
