Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)
Location: Postcombe, Oxfordshire
Salary: £45,000 per annum

The Role

*

Produce mechanical schematics, layouts, elevations, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD.

*

Revit experience is a bonus.

*

Perform mechanical engineering calculations (heat loss, pipework sizing, ductwork) using Hevacomp.

*

Prepare equipment schedules aligned with Employers’ Requirements and design standards.

*

Review and check technical design documents for compliance with Building Regulations.

*

Ensure compliance with British Standards.

*

Identify and resolve design risks with practical, well-communicated solutions.

*

Attend design meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.

*

Use electronic document management systems to keep documentation organized.

*

Assist in delivering installation-ready Stage 5 designs.

The Ideal Candidate

*

Minimum of 2 years' experience in mechanical building services or HVAC design.

*

Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit experience desirable.

*

Knowledge of Hevacomp and familiarity with SAP/SBEM tools.

*

Strong understanding of Building Regulations and British Standards.

*

Experience with technical submissions and document management systems.

*

HNC or higher qualification in Building Services Engineering or a related field.

*

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

*

Proactive, detail-oriented approach.
